Back home after an eventful evening walk. Went on the Keswick to Threlkeld railway path, from Low Briery, just before dusk. Initially, there was no bugger about save a couple of deer, a badger and an evening chorus of birds, which was magical. As I got closer to Keswick, I was approached by four, motley, local yoot. The, apparent, leader had a stick. "Give us yer money or we'll give you a kicking!" I just laughed. " Look son, given my age and background, I don't give a fuck. Come on then". He was clearly shitting it at this point. "Er, how old are you, then?" , "Over sixty. Are you and the three stooges going to do anything with that stick?" He then asks " What background?" , " Former military ( partially true) and Leeds Service Crew ( not at all true!!🙂 )".
At this point they did shit it and ran.
STAND, LEEDS! (genuine LOL).
Here's some pics before the encounter -
