Placid I'm in the photo, leaning on the barrier between the Glennding and Austhorpe advertising hoardings.
There was a larger than normal turnout of kids last night. I'm not sure what precipitated them being cleared out of there, as they were not being particularly rowdy. Someone had tried to set off a flare earlier, but it didn't fully go off. The kids are all mouth and trousers, but can be a bit of a nuisance. They're usually the only ones making any noise, but their "colourful" language is not appreciated by some. The club are also particularly sensitive after the recent bad publicity following the piss-in-bottle incident, and a couple of weeks earlier a kid had run across the pitch to wind-up FC United supporters in the stand opposite. Trudi (the stadium manager, a lovely lady, but a woman who I think would have single-handedly nipped hooliganism in the bud nationally if she had been given the job in the 1970s) appeared with a couple of stewards and the little darlings were gone. I'd be interested to find out what exactly happened.
