Djpekingman I found Naples fucking grim. Grim in the centre and grimmer on the outskirts. It's bandit country, although i'm sure there are worse places in Italy. It's just that i'm on holiday and not on a UN mission.
On one of my visits, after i'd booked into my hotel, i was talking with the person the front desk, and they took one of those tourists maps and drew squares and circles on it over certain areas. "Are these worth going to?" I asked. "No, these areas aren't safe for tourists" they replied.
They advised me to get a taxi to and from Napoli's ground to be safe. On the way back, the taxi driver misunderstood the name of the street that i'd mispronounced and we ended up going through an area of the city that I can only describe as looking post apocalyptic.
This paints a fair picture of my visits..............
