Flaneur Getting ready to go from Crewe station to Milton Keynes Central, and then across to Olney for a family engagement party tonight. Staying at a former client of mine; https://www.bullhotelolney.co.uk
Flaneur I've not had a drink for two weeks now, didn't drink much before that. Didn't plan it, found myself in the midst of it. Sleeping better.
90Piesanhour Flaneur The thing is, when you get to our/my age, you know that alcohol is fizzy, calorific poison, even if it tastes nice, and it’s expensive, so not drinking it to excess just makes sense. To me, anyway.
Jon Sofa watching this, drinking Barry’s eating Milanos . Never seen it before. It’s marvellous. https://www.youtube.com/live/4uLDf88By0g?si=j-xRJ0zHdjcmEU6X
Jon Thought I’d sit outside and read a bit more. Had a fire instead. Flaneur I don’t know much about him but I like some of his tunes.
cordshoes white_dragon No, it was in the hills though...beautiful with the Sierra Nevada? vista on one side. Called Alhaurin. Not a slick commercial course, but it's very interesting. Would be a grueller without a buggy as very long par 5s and loads of hills, like the first 2 in the photos Still 10k steps done with one though. Played Las Lomas on Satdi which was a bit boring, too forgiving IMHO.
CBIT Summer Palace, Beijing. Wife took great pleasure in showing me the bits us Brit’s and French wrecked back during the opium wars days.
CBIT otis apparently that and the pearl market isn’t such a thing now (wife asked how long is it since you were here?) we’ve done tiananman, forbidden place, summer place, badaling for the Great Wall and hutong so far and off to fc Beijing on Saturday night.
Young_Marxist_at_Tescos Back home. Just been road-testing a new set of bike lights. Didn’t get hit by anything with wheels and an engine 👍
CharlieG Young_Marxist_at_Tescos When I was commuting through Leeds, particularly in winter/the dark, not being hit by a motor vehicle was, definitely, a win. The lights do work.
