I remember been in The Blackthorn on Bainbridge Ave in The Bronx one Sunday afternoon when a bloke from Derry cycled in, pulled up at the bar, had a few and left and couple of hours later without ever dismounting.
Par for the course up there back then.

Jury duty Newark courts. In the pool waiting to get called for a case. They should make kids come and observe the behaviour and lack of basic understanding of simple instructions of the people who will be deciding the fate of someone accused of a crime. I’m convinced it would scare quite a few potential criminals straight.
And don’t get me started on the administration staff. Apparently the Quiet Area signs do not apply to them.

Placid Not much to report. Two days of sitting around then getting dismissed from jury selection for two trials. That's me done while next time. Most defense attorneys don't want you on a trial when they find out you once applied for the police department (Rhode Island, never heard back).
