Placid Just looked on a map and noticed @Jon Mad to think that (from google): Portsmouth, NH, located around 43 N latitude, shares a similar latitude to several notable locations, including Florence, Italy; Girona, Spain; and Nice, Franc
Travis_Bickle Helmsley at my Mum's. Watching Livingstone v Hearts. Cracking run-in up north this season.
Djpekingman Travis_Bickle The former Ferranti and then Meadowbank Thistle vs the Fat Jambo Bastards. Potential for being a bit tasty, especially as the CCC played yesterday.
cordshoes Went to Funchal a couple of times in lockdown times. Wasn't that impressed with the bars but the streets around the old town are decent. Stayed in a small hotel near a square at the end of the old town, near a bar called Arsenal!
cordshoes Met a mutually regarded Uniteds player last night, Gordon Strachan. Is there a stalking thread on here?
Djpekingman Just crawled out from under the kitchen sink after fitting a new kitchen sink tap. I fucking hate this task more than all grown up DIY type tasks. The person that invents a kitchen tap that doesn't involve grovelling around and lying on your back head first in a dark, bleach fume filled, wet, too small a space trying to undo corroded pipe joints in impossible spaces at impossible angles will make a fucking fortune. Like fucking plumbers make now. The cunts.
Raposa Djpekingman This. Recently fitted some new units in our bathroom and had the same issue. Fit the new vanity units. Pissball Fit the new worktop. Pissball Cut out and fit the new inset sink. Pissball Extend the pipe work to the new sink with push fit connectors. Pissball. Fit the shiny new chrome tap to the sink. Definitely NOT Pissball and ended up buying some fancy tap spanner after the wife spotted it was leaking like fuck underneath two weeks later. Alright if you’ve got arms like an Orang Utang to stop the tap spinning whilst tightening up.
Jon Basin wrench? God, I hate plumbing. Anytime I do any work involving drains I get flu like symptoms for a day or two after. Install work's not too bad but repairs? I'd be all for relaxing the child labour laws. 99% of adults aren't made to fit in most places a plumber needs to go.
cordshoes Toilet seats this get fitted and then stay where they are. In public areas have a shit can be like pouring an old fashioned ice cream.
white_dragon We had one of our pensioners days out today. Port Sunlight, walk around, soup of the day in art gallery, visit the church, read some grave stones. Better than working. Only me and Mrs D , not a proper organised pensioner trip.
white_dragon Loose_Lips Always a possibility there with the tricky runway to negotiate. How long delay are you looking at ?
Placid Yeadon airport.. Poland bound for a wedding. Never been to a wedding in another country, looking forward to it.
Travis_Bickle Placid went to one about 15 years ago in a little town called Kęty in the far south. Church was beautiful. And massive. The reception was upstairs in the local fire station. Apparently that's a regular thing. Olympic level drinking but they kept serving hot food, stews and stuff, well into the early hours....'na zdrowie'
