Got nicked at the airport on my way home after an altercation with a Columbia, held over night then bailed in the morning - but i had no way of paying it as they held my wallet and no way of contacting anyone to let them know i was in there. Wasn't till i didn't return to work that people realised i was missing.

On a wing with about 40 other geezers and 4 phones (and them all locals who knew what they were doing) Me didn't know any local numbers to ring and i didn't have access to my phone - finally got hold of a bailbondsman after 3 days who agreed to bail me out on the basis i'd pay then as soon as i got out (normally you have to pay them first before they pay for your release.Asked that british consulate be informed when i was nicked during processing but never heard from them at all, daughter rang them when she realised i was missing and they said the couldn't tell her anything about me due to data protection laws!! Takes 21 days before they decide whether to charge me or not
