I don't know for sure, but I reckon a bit of both. Gillespie seems to keep things simple. Quoted as saying to plunkett, bowl fast and don't worry about anything else. Sport psychology at its finest. The youth setup must be pretty good as well, loads of young lads that have either or just about to break into the first team.

Maybe I'm closet UKIP but I don't like the idea of a non-English England coach - however good Gillespie isI suspect you're right, he makes it easy for people to play "bowl quick", "give it a rip", "score me a ton", "play naturally" - but none of that is possible without natural talent being nurtured and guided which I'm pretty sure he doesn't doAnd maybe that's what England are missing rather than a good man-manager?Anyway, Hants are 114-6 at lunch - should be able to polish off the last 4 wickets in what remains of the day
