He then took some serious punishment and another 2 knockdowns before it was eventually stopped.
Not clear on the rules but I always thought that if the towel went in that was that?

Raposa Jesus. He deserves a hiding for that. Technically the towel is a signal to the ref to stop it. If I was in the corner I would have gone in myself.

Shit night for Warrington. He really wanted that loss avenged. Have to wait again and likely take an inbetweenie. Was shaping up to be a good fight too. Rules is rules so a technical draw it had to be.

It was a bad cut but the consensus seems to be that Lara should have at least had another round to try and take Warrington out.
I guess the doctor has the final say but Lara's team were hardly pleading to continue.
Keeps his belt so maybe not so surprising in that sense.

A consensus seems to have formed on social media that Warrington was on for the win. I didn’t see anything that made me think the result was a foregone conclusion.

As for the cut, it’s all on the doctor. If he lets it go another round do you think Warrington is going to pepper him with body shots? Lad could’ve suffered a career ending cut. Right call. Maybe not popular but the right call.

Jon JW looked better than last time thats as much as I'd say. Hoping he can have a keep busy fight and get Lara back in the ring when the cut heals.

In terms of Lara..looks a dangerous fighter to me and he caught JW with a couple of decent hooks,one of which seemed to rock him back on his heels.
I'd agree it was no foregone conclusion.

Maybe it's me but this Joshua v Usyk fight doesn't appear as straightforward as most are suggesting.
That Usyk is one menacing looking cunt and Joshua has form for not necessarily being able to take a dig.
As they say..a good big one beats a good little one but I'm really looking forward to this.

Raposa I've watched him and he is a tough cookie. probably weight should help - Joshua around 17 stone and Usyk probably 2.5 stone lighter. But even so Usyk does have a bloody good punch. I wonder if, given the height and reach advantage of Joshua we shall see Usyk coming inside with a lot of body punches.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Joshua lost. He says he’s a warrior, but I’m not so sure. Hasn’t he lost a few stone as well? If he loses, I don’t know where he’d go then. I’m not a huge fan of either to be honest, but I would like to see a Fury v Joshua fight.

Cooley I think the British media would still want a Joshua v Fury match if Joshua loses tomorrow. Dont think the rest of the world would give a shit though.

But I suppose if Usyk won then Fury should demand a unification fight (does he still have his WBC belt?) and let Joshua have a couple of goes at the British scene. Shut David Fucking Haye up once and for all and why not Chisora, Whyte (rematch), Price.

Arent Allen, Sexton. oooh and even Hughie Fury still doing the rounds? Good pay day for these guys against Joshua.

My boxing knowledge is limited, but it strikes me we’ve got plenty of heavyweights, but (Fury, possibly AJ, aside) none of them are much kop. Just lots of mouthy fatties.

Hard not to like Usyk. He was class when he beat Bellew. He moved and fought like a super middleweight at times in that fight. Bellew won't hit as hard as Joshua, but he took some decent shots and walked through them.
He has a great left hand and whips in lightning quick hooks with it.
I've never been convinced about Joshua. He's a boxer for the modern age. Style over substance in some ways. Tyson became a 'brand' on the back of being an incredible fighter. Joshua and others these days are brands that hope they can win enough to keep the endorsements coming.
