Jon Losing loads of weight whilst waiting for a gall bladder operation; no booze and low fat diet for 8 months. Decided to take up Ju Jitsu, due to my age, but started doing Tae Kwon Do as a result of our son not wanting to go. After a couple of months our teacher advised us to start running, swimming or skipping to improve our cardio fitness and, almost exactly 2 years ago, I started. That's it, in a nutshell. I'm currently on green belt in Ju Jitsu and green belt with a blue tag in Tae Kwon Do and looking to reach blue belt in both by the end of this year. The running has helped enormously and, at 55, I'm fitter than I've ever been. I'm not a fast runner, but I have discovered hitherto levels of stamina that I never thought I had, or would ever have. Just gonna keep going now, see where it gets me.
