Travis_Bickle Lad's first Junior Parkrun this morning. Nice for me to run too, my achilles didn't enjoy it as much mind. Said he's going back next week which is a good sign.
Anchor Did a sticky six off road earlier. I was zapped. Over 10 min miles. Oh well. Onwards and upwards.
90Piesanhour Went for a cautious, slow, 5 miler last night. No kidney stone pain, so that was good. From what I've read, exercise can get the little bastards moving, so I'll continue for now.
Travis_Bickle Second junior parkrun with the lad. Decided to test out the achilles with a run when we got home. 2.35 miles. No real pain so far. Missed that great feeling when you finish.
Travis_Bickle Junior Parkrun with the lad. His fourth. Went for another on my own run after. Just over 2 miles but the main thing is no pain in the achilles. Yet.
Foxy_Dread I was touch and go for the bus to work this morning and next bus 90 mins later. I ran at whatever the pace slower than jogging is called 20 yards of shuffling quickly then 40 yds of walking. I made the bus,.
90Piesanhour Mate of mine did a 62 mile ultra marathon at the weekend. It took him 17 hours, he finished at 1am and had to walk the last 10 miles. He's knackered one of his ankles, too.
heyho 90Piesanhour was that the one from Newcastle to Bamburgh Castle? Lad I work with did it. Managed 55k then his Achilles packed in.
Foxy_Dread 90Piesanhour doesn't he train? The IOM Parish Walk is 85 miles, no running allowed, they do it in 17 hours, the best do it in 15 and a half.
90Piesanhour heyho heyho heyho That's the one. Madness running that far. Early grave stuff. I might do a marathon one day, but that will be enough.
Anchor 90Piesanhour I trained for a 35 mile ultra. Calf blew up a week before. I was well up for it. Had trained to 30 miles. However I felt my body was saying something. So have not tried anything like it again I have done a marathon and did a sub four so happy enough - i'd like to do a few more flat halfs though.
90Piesanhour Anchor Anchor If you go drinking in London you're bound to get a few flat halfs. I used to always be complaining!
90Piesanhour Managed 6.34 miles in 55:32 yesterday at a pace of 08:45 per mile. Quite fast, but powered mainly by the fact that I had a tortoisehead for most of the time. It's amazing how dreaming of the toilet can sharpen the senses and focus the mind.
90Piesanhour What a night, fastest EVER time of 4.71 miles in 40:56 at a pace of 08:40 per mile and England are through to the finals of the Euros! Unbelievable, Geoff!
Travis_Bickle 2.5 miles after Junior Parkrun with the lad. Started raining towards the end. That fine rain. Lovely stuff.
Under-the-ground Just got back from my weekly constitutional. it doesn’t get easier. I feel better for it & my clothes feel better, but I haven’t shaken off any weight. I just do the same loop every time. May be an odd park run when they start again.
