Anchor YoungParisian_inExile Serious pace there. You must feel good running now. I didn't wake up till 8.45 so park run out. Went for a ponderous four thinking I might do a 6 or 7. Felt great yesterday, rubbish today. Gonna revert to a three a week half training plan from Tues with some cross training thrown in.
YoungParisian_inExile @Anchor …. Out of shape … too much ale of late . Would be running easier if I cut it down. Todays run … another 11ish Kms at over 5 minutes / km was tough and no fun .
Anchor YoungParisian_inExile Maybe drop the distance for a week or so to 5ks and get all the Christmas shit out the way? My half training plan for anyone to agree or critique. Monday: Rest Tuesday: 4/5 mile steady building to 6/7 Wednesday: cross train - either walking or core in the gym Thursday: some kind of speed work/hill reps of at least four miles Friday: cross train, probs walking Saturday or Sunday: Long run. Start at 6 and build to 11 with final of 12. I have three months.
YoungParisian_inExile Anchor Im really bad on planning, tend to just go out and run which like in life and work is often not the best idea ! I’m thinking of doing one to prepare for a half ..: DAY 175 …. 7k today in a downpour at under 5mins/km and felt good . Back in the groove ( no booze for 4 days … 😁)
90Piesanhour Not sure how I can do a non-park run 5k (3.22 miles) in 27.33 mins, but I just have. Maybe it's running on your own, but I did really try and go as flat out as I could. Seemed to work. 🏃♂
YoungParisian_inExile Amazing the effect of a couple of days off the booze and some healthy eating can have.. Day 178
Anchor Anyone run in Scott trainers? Scott of carbon ski gear innovation. Great reviews and even better prices in the sales. Pair of carbon plate road shoes online for £50. Fancy giving the carbon thing a go. Not a million per cent on the idea but it's something about energy transference. Those bikes just dropped that will supposedly help break the sub two hour marathon records. Scott been ahead of the game in the tech apparently. https://www.sportsshoes.com/product/sco175/scott-speed-carbon-rc-running-shoes/#sku-sco175
Chopper_Read Anchor My last pair of running trainers and I wouldn't recommend if you like a bit of cushioning. Got a pair of Hoka's after and the difference is night and day.
Anchor Ffs. Decided to go out with a club for a run tonight. Last time I did that, about two years ago, I got injured. Yup. Pulled me fucking calf. Thought I'd got over the soft tissue injuries. Not had one in 18 months or so Pissed right off. Fuck club runs.
YoungParisian_inExile Half a year done …..with a little 16k 😁 If you’re interested as to why I’m doing this madness here’s some info on the NGO I’m running for . Idigenous Life Sports Academy helps 1st Nation kids in BC Canada get active, skateboarding , biking, skiing, hiking , climbing . If you find any shrapnel down the side of your sofa feel free to chuck it my way 🙏
YoungParisian_inExile Chopper_Read i tried them on and they felt great apart from if I don’t focus I tend to run on my heels and Hokas make me feel I’m falling backwards
Loose_Lips Very cold in Salford tonight. Lovely though. Love being cold me. Or at least wrapped up in it.
