Harvest I just wanted to finish, that's all. Had no illusions about a finish time. Once my hip started hurting at 18 miles, and the temperature rose to 24 degrees, I started to really slow down. I'm pleased I didn't finish last. Sam Warwick was my running partner, and he's 25, so I'm pleased I was only 20 mins behind him. I think it'll be a while before I try another one...

Right. I'm back on it. Hopefully anyway. The lad said he wanted to start so we've just done about a mile. Walk, run, walk, run. Nothing silly. Just hope the knee and achilles let me continue.

Travis_Bickle Good man Travis. Walked for the first time today without pain in my hip. Hopefully back at it, lightly, come mid September.
It definitely became an addiction and I'm in cold turkey now ...

Had a lovely 5k around Eu earlier. No idea where I was going. Found a cycle path up the river, broke into a school, round the back streets and saw plenty you'd not see otherwise.

I say broke in. I climbed a fence in looking for a short cut. None to be had. Waved at the CCTV and climbed a fence out. It was a high fence though.

I'm 54 you know.

First park run after the marathon. Slower (understandably) but felt strong and finished about half way, which is good for me:

First run in 6 weeks and first time I've been able to put any weight on my hip.
Managed a couple of Kms in 20 minutes , a very very slow pace but it was good to get out again
Baby steps to getting back to the level I was at beginning of the summer.

Just did a 5k - feel like it was my first proper run since Aug 2nd. Hammys been aching and pinging so tried more active recovery stuff. Walk/runs, gym, MTB and swims. Felt good today. Need to make sure I don't overdo it now.
