Bit slower this week, but only just over 28 mins so happy with that. Also finishing in the first half is good. Really putting the effort in, although I'm Aware that age is against me. Concentrating on breathing in through my nose, out through my mouth. It's difficult to maintain, but it does work and helps regulate your breathing overall:

I did my 15th Park run today in 26.57. half a minute slower than last week but I'd decided to go out easy and try a negative split as I usually prefer a positive split.

There was some cunt behind me all the way chuntering to his bird. 'come on' - 'you can do it' - 'open your stride' - 'nearly there'. Fucking constant.

I've also noticed the appearance of the ultra marathon 5k runners. More gizmos, water bottles, belts, gels, matching black running gear than is entirely necessary for a 5k.

Still. If it makes them happy.

Anchor Good time. The ‘serious’ park runners are all over the place, nowadays. We’ve got a few who do ‘pre-run’ runs, stretch for half an hour and then shout at people to ‘keep left’ and ‘get out the way’ as they tear past you. Tits.

I do like to try and do four slow laps of the track at mine before I go to get me into aerobic or anaerobic or what it is before I start.

I stopped stretching about a decade ago.

All the gear and no idea . People lying about their PB.
I spent the first 3k of the London 10k of dodging past people who could probably do the course in 80 minutes . People with water back packs for a 5k. 😂
As you say , if they’re happy and out exercising then good for them.

I warm up for 5k … basic stretches for 5 minutes, less so for a 10k as I use the first km as the warm up:
My 5km times are pretty awful as that first km is always around 7 minutes, I’m like an oil tanker. After that I can get down to 4.10 splits .

Aim later this year is to break 40 minutes for 10k

Flying visit to West Yorkshire … ran a half marathon this morning through Drig, Birstall, near Batley, lower Gomersall, Birkenshaw, East Bierley CC down into Tong Village back to a loop of Drig … not a great time but f*ck me it was ´hilly’ . Perfect backdrop and weather to listen to the Sisters.
Oh and I saw a Lama

Off into Leeds for the unveiling of a statue /sculpture to honour 300 women who have dedicated their lives to Leeds. My mum is one of them for 60 Years service at the LGI wand Jimmys.
Then back to the shithole for Canadian Thanksgiving 🍁🍁🍁

Anchor @Anchor pretty good …was fairly easy pace . Just enjoyed the scenery .

@Loose_Lips …never clocked a half marathon on Strava . This route , hardly mountainous but it seemed like a never ending incline . Not a fast city centre PB route for sure . 😂

Bizarrely enough, although I thought I was running at a decent pace, it was slow for me. However, I still managed to finish in a good position, considering the number of runners. How does that work? I suppose the pace overall was slower, but happy to be 98th out of 226th.
