Pavement ... uneven, people, dogs, kerbs ... feel like you're always dodging something
Road or better still bike lane ... smooth ... stick your hand out like a traffic cop as you go through an intersection .
Run towards the traffic so you can see whats coming and dodge if you need to.
You stop less, more flowing ... so you may run the same speed but you keep moving. Times are better .
Same principal as a fixed wheel bike. Never stop... just slow down and then speed up.
and, yep , it's a bit more dangerous, bit more of a thrill 😁

I have to run on the road on occasion. Don't like it... Especially down in the shire. Feel like I'll die at any moment.

I like the technical aspect. Pavement. Urban paths, trails, canal and woods. Constantly risk assessing.

I like head torch off road in the winter.

That's why I'm slow as fuck. And I'm sticking to that reason. 😆

90% of my running at the moment is on the seafront promenade .

I did try some efforts tonight on a flat quiet road. I realise I'm not really making much effort, 10 min miles and 'doing it. Im being a bit lazy. No burn after.

You'd Def put efforts in on promenades and the like.

I need to get back up the cut.

I'm very much in a can't be arsed period ...
I like taking different routes, keeps my brain happy, but here a bit restricted to the seafront unlesss i take on loads of steep hills.

2 weeks on from my lurgi/covid thing and times are still slow, but I'm now 4 runs from 250, so will keep ploughing on:

Anchor nah…. Don’t feel the need for carbon plate shoes, don’t race and Nike road shoes don’t work for me . All those bros suddenly appear on a Saturday morning .
Endorphin Speed is tech enough for me. It’s a good tempo shoe , enough for my usage

YoungParisian_inExile I've got a pair of Scott RC that I leave at my van.

Can't say I notice any difference in the carbon plate from my regular shoes.

Nike's btw. Been in Pegasus for years.
