Halfway through this and it is bang on.Sick Boy is sick, Begbie is weird and a new character is a vile cunt.Hugely enjoying it.

This is fucking tremendous - i'd say Welsh's best work. Well, maybe almost as good as Filth.I am fucking pissing myself in parts, cringeing in other and reading in wide eyed wonder/fear at other bits.Tremendous stuff.
Rudi
The bits he read in Liverpool were good. I'd sort of given up on him, but will investigate on this recommendation.

Yes - i've finished it now.It is a little farcical - so suspend your belief in parts but a hugely enjoyable romp. I am now going to read Blade Artist but have heard mixed reviews but I am keen to see how begbie arrives at the place Begbie is at.

Was going to get this in the airport last week but the cunts wanted £16 for in paperback so got The Blade Artist instead, interesting direction to take Begbie in. Am currently reading The Force by Don Winslow which is the bollocks.

Winslow is worth following on Twitter, he recommends some great stuff.

Not on it, you'll have to post them on here.

I stared that last night btw and it has grabbed me already.

Blade artist is ace, but a decent ride outclassed it, juice Terry at his finest

I'm leaving dead man's trousers for a holiday read, don't want to do it in 2 nights

I have a mate and we share literary taste and he thought The Blade Artist was meh. I am loving it!Yeah - A Decent Ride is on the pile. You could easily do DMT in a sitting I think.

^^^^ I certainly fancy a go on that DMT. Sounds ace if IW descriptions are anything to go by.After finishing Blade Artist I am a little gutted I did not read Blade Artist and Dead Mans Trousers back to back - would have been ace. Begbie is truly truly truly terrifying. Did he kill Seeker in Porno? I only really reacall Juice Terry snapping his cock off.

Just done A Decent Ride, entertaining but the whole yank billionaire golf and £100k whisky is just rubbish.

Just started Crime - the sequel to Filth. Slightly not keen due to subject matter but he has handled depression and anxiety brilliantly thus far.

I took a break from this then rattled it out in about two days. Compelling, beliveable, crafted beyond belief - the man puts you right there as that cocaine hits the back of your nose or that that third drink spells the onset of a binge. His best work in my opinion. Difficult subject matter (pedophile rings) and the a truly truly shocking bit at the end.Read it.

I agree. Great book, but horrible

I'm reading Glue. Why have I not read this before. I am struggling with the timeline so to speak. This is essentially pre trainspotting but around the time of Skag Boys I guess? Or just before? Actually before that as well. Renton and co around 13/14?
The characters are ace and having been exposed to some in Blade Artist and DMT.
Still not read A Decent Ride so will go there after.

Anchor Loved Glue when I read it. Everything intertwines.
