I'm trying to guide him that way. He hates school but I'm trying to sell him on college. But after the OD we can't really exert any pressure in any direction. The offer we've made to him is that if he wants to stick with music we'll bankroll him through college up to and including university. Get him the kit and a car.(We'll probably be paying for it for the next 10 years but you do what you have to do).
Tough predicament you're in there SpaceWhile you want to do everything for him, you also have to instill in him certain responsibilities and behaviours that are required by you, from him, for what you'd doIt all sounds very formal but it might be worth sitting down with him and talking through it all - drawing up some sort of 'contract' (for want of a better word) that you all sign up to - even frame it and display it just for your familyget's everything out in the open and moves away from all the "he said, she said" type arguments that are bound to come along 18 months down the line......Just a thought, you know where your lad is at the moment and how much he can be challenged
