Djpekingman RSPCA were sketchy about the genetics. They rescued her and her sister, who had a very visible ridgeback, from a puppy farmer, who couldn’t shift the pair of them.
It was felt Cherry’s eyes were putting off potential suitors. Not known the reason for her sister as she didn’t suffer from the same ailment.
They could only rescue these two as they were the only two showing ill/miss treatment. There were 8 dogs kept in a shed in covered cages.
Until I showed interest, no one had applied to see her, RSPCA said it was the eyes that were putting people off. I had a bulldog with similar, doesn’t hurt them, just impairs their vision and is relatively straightforward in veterinary procedure terms, to correct.
Good news is that her sister was also adopted 2 weeks before I got Cherry.
