Anchor There’s a company called Ouigo that does cheap trains but I’m not sure they do Switzerland - they operate mainly in France and Spain. Trains in Switzerland are not cheap but are very clean and efficient. Zurich is one of the most expensive places in Europe.

There was a hack.

I got tickets from Zurch to Tirano on the Bernia express for £40 each. You buy them from the German operator. Debahn.

You get a ticket from Siegen (sp) to Tirano with a stop in either Zurich or Chur. I went Chur. Make sure the departure from Zurich is to late to travel in one day and you have a stop over and pick the church train up the next day.

He explains it on his site. So all my Swiss travel has been cheap as chips.

You have to reserve a seat on the Bernia express seperately. That was £30 each.

So far I've spent £250.

Anchor the weather will be nice enough in southern Italy at that time of the year. Rome & Naples are about an hour apart via the fast train.

I know a few on here like Naples, but I found it a bit grubby/edgy. However, it does offer the ability to catch a fast ferry to either Capri/Ischia/Procida, which are all worthy of a visit.

Misura know a bloke who's done 100s of grounds across the UK and Europe. Reckoned a night game in Napoli was one of the 'moodiest' walks back to town he'd done anywhere. This was 20-plus years ago mind.

I thought i'd already posted, but can't find it, so i'll just to add, you know on films like Robo Cop or Death Wish, when they do that post apocalyptic street scene version of new York at night, with no street lights and people lurking in the shadows and burning bins as heaters. That's Naples suburbs at night.

Misura You do have to be clinically insane to even consider the Neapolitan suburbs at night. The city centre though is mostly fine and I include Spagnoli in that.

A suit (!) for the lad's wedding. Took fucking ages. Most places seem to only cater for the deformed - short, fat fuckers who want to squeeze themselves into "slimfit" styles. My God, they must look right cunts. Not much about in "regular" fit, so have bought "tailored" fit, which seems OK.
Need to get some proper footwear now as I only have trainers or approach shoes.
Edited to say took ages means longer than an hour.
