Travis_Bickle Went to the Winfield Cup, what I thought was a semi but was actually a round involving five teams. Ended up drinking with some of the Sydney PD rugby team who were absolute gents, wouldn’t let us buy a beer and invited us to a barbecue the following week at a house on the other side of the bay for the St George or Manly, I forget, v winner of another round game . Declined as we were moving on. They’d toured the UK playing amateur sides while basing themselves in Otley.
One lad asked me if I’d ever had a night out in Wakefield. I said one or two. So you’ll understand then? Understand what? If I ever win the lottery I’m moving to Wakefield. Are we taking about the same place? I think so. Put it this way. 30 of us on a night out, 29 got the leg over and we’d always had our doubts about the other fella.
They hadn’t had a night out in Cas so who knows what they would’ve made of that? Great bunch. Great day, what I can recall.
