I know... Based on wiring (Sky cables) going to the Sky box, I have to work with that smaller space for now.
I've tweaked the port with resistive loading (a bundle of straws plugged in) and luckily the bass is still tight and controlled. I emailed the designer, who I know from way back when in hi-fi and took his advice.
I've got a great hi-fi system, but the wrong room. When I'm divorced and in my open-plan front room/kitchen/bedroom, I'll be crying with my albums splayed out in front of me like my jazz mags used to be.
