Under-the-ground They are, as far as I'm concerned. Got 3 pairs of these - Hummvee II's. They come with clip in padded liners but I, mostly wear them just as shorts ( without the liner). Got various other types of Endura shorts - Singletrack's, Zyme's, MT 500's. May seem like overkill but I'm in shorts 8 months of the year.
