Oh and Sacred City is a documentary that suggests the holy city of Mecca is in the wrong location and that the worlds 1.6 billion Muslims are praying in the direction of the wrong city.

Watched The Dig last night. A lovely, gentle film about the excavation of an Anglo-Saxon boat in Suffolk ( the Sutton Hoo excavation). Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes are excellent.

I watched this on saturday.

I really enjoyed it. It was normal. The dialogue overlapped, people stumbled words, not a lot happened really (other than the obvious - which was almost a side play in the end). It felt like a few days in some peoples lives with beautiful countryside as the back drop.

Anchor I tried this on Sunday evening, I was with drink so was not feeling it. I was fascinated with Sutton Hoo as a child. But whilst drinking gin I wanted Fiennes to nail the posh woman, I have issues.

space I am enjoing The Crown far more than I thought I would. I rant at the royal family and their ways but equally the historical slant is facinating - particularly the late 50's stuff up the Thatcher you arre awarre of but dont necessarily understand - well for me any way - Anthony Eaden, Suez, the threee day week and Heath. Then reading up on it. Interesting stuff and it is well made - that Foy woman is easy on the eye as well.

The Crown is ace. And this comes from someone who has never had much interest - if any - in the Royal Family. I just put my prejudices aside, took the fucker with a pinch of salt, and watched it for the quality drama that it undoubtedly delivers.

Placid Ha ha ha - that was a weird scene really. You think he will but just did have any kind of charisam in respect. I was glad the other fellah gave the bird with glassses a good rogering though.

It would have been better if Fiennes had given Rebus a good tattering in my book an all.

What amazed me as a child was that there was a place called Hoo. Sutton Hoo? Weird. Been fascinated with place names ever since really. Probably need to get out more
