cordshoes Which song(s) @cordshoes?
I've just completed it tonight and I had the lump in the throat thing at a few points. I just wish that episode 6 was episode 4 - for the viewers that are grieving (fucking huggins of them), and that he grew more and found peace (of sorts). Especially if that's it for this programme/character.
It's hard to choose music that adds to images, harder than you think. The best use of music in that series for me, is a song that takes me right band to my childhood (aged 12/13), big, big radio play. When it started playing, I gasped. The wife looked at me. Kind of song that took a schedule right up to the news on the hour. Funny how music impacts you isn't it. Songs you may not have in your collection, but you never move that dial when they are on.
Never knew it was a Todd Rundgren song at either, done superbly by England Dan and John Ford Coley's. 'Love Is The Answer' (and don't they sound like the two best dressed lads of Arsenal's The Herd, or Luton's Men In Gear), pure sunshine pouring in through the speakers, especially that bit at 3mins 17 seconds of this, that 'Light of the World', growl man...
Never knew I was a soft rock aficionado, until the Yacht Rock theme started rumbling. I'm struck by a first lockdown memory - remember that, when the sun was shining and we started drinking earlier and earlier in the day, like the six weeks school holiday stretched on and on. Cans of San Miguel, rattan and cushions, 10.00pm seemed miles away.
First track of my playlist, always start with a good one...
