Mrs got tickets for me for Xmas.
F***ing brilliant. One of the best gigs I’ve been to in a while. New album stuff was great. Flytipping is my favourite off the The Blue Hour and it sounded fantastic live. They ended with Life Is Golden that he dedicated to his lad. Another really beautiful song.
There’s always a danger that after 30 years, bands can become parodies of themselves but that wasn’t the case. Anderson still gives it loads for a bloke of 51. His voice holds up pretty well too. Seems to genuinely know how lucky he’s been to get where he is, particularly after all the stuff he’s been through with addiction and the like.
Oakes is such a great guitar player. He’s that effortless he looks like he’s miming at times.
Loads of old favourites, Trash, The Beautiful Ones, Metal Mickey, We Are The Pigs, Animal Nitrate.
Reminds you of how much better venues like this are compared to the Arena and the like. You can probably tell how much I enjoyed it….
