Write off Japan at your peril…
ENG V JAP tomorrow - 4 am our time though. Important that the Japanese don’t get bullied, and they showed against Scotland that they can hold up against bigger teams and are a lot quicker on the break because of it. Japan are at full strength, but it remains to be seen if they’ll go for glory, top spot in the group, or save energy and switch players to make sure none are suspended. Japan’s already qualified, so an interesting game ahead. For me, this could be the final being played in the group stages, or it could mean Japan put out their reserves and go through the motions and let England have this one.
Saki Kumagai is the one to watch for us, she’s ace man. 121 run outs for OL, Champions League winner, 120 caps for Japan, 28 years old, turned down a place at Tokyo’s best university to play football. Solid player, Japanese Kalvin Philips innit..
Hope USA get knocked out soon..
