Someone, I think Raposa, advised to wait until 15 games in before a realistic idea could be formed. I thought that made sense. Well, we're 15 games in. What have we learned? And what can we say about the future?
The good news.
- We are top after almost a 3rd of the way. We have always been top or thereabouts all through this campaign.
- We have a very good defence, the best in fact on goals against.
- We have one of the best away records.
I don't believe there is really bad news but there are a couple of concerns
- Home form. Dropped points letting in late goals but this appears to have been fixed. We shall see.
- Goals. Hard to come by but if we can get one, the defence should be able to keep it.
Outlook.
This is sooo hard. Six points separates 12 teams. I was interested to read Moscowhite's report after QPR; I sense a stiffer backbone to the team this time, a manful acceptance of the fickleness of chance and a determination to get up this time. I think they'll make it but they'll have to fight tooth and nail against WBA, PNE, Swansea, Forest and the Owls. Even dark horses like Hull and Huddersfield with late runs of form.
Prediction: Automatic promotion. I believe.
