I was glued to BBC Parliament channel last night watching barking Bojo and his completely bonkers performance in the commons. This is a seriously wacko person, no? He was supposed to make a statement on the supreme court decision but, apart from saying the court was wrong, he banged on for 10 minutes about Brexit and how assholes are stymying his plan (which we’re not allowed to see). No apology for illegally closing down parliament, no attempt to try to mend fences. A rant. Then he insults Jo Cox by lashing her to getting Brexit done and labels humbug another woman politician’s defence of Cox. Misogynous? Perhaps, but certainly not a nice man. People would be insane to trust someone like him to negotiate anything on their behalf. He puts his feet up on his hosts furniture, for God’s sake. He’s a fat, contemptuous slob. Farage is laughing his socks off, all he has to do is keep quiet.

But closing down Parliament was nothing to do with Brexit. Absolute lying cunt. More worryingly is the fact there is no viable alternative.

The problem is that all teh cunts are mainly public facing on all parties - the career politicians. There are loads of decent bank benchers across all parties doing a lot of good for the community. Beeston has got Hilary Benn, a sensible labour bloke, where I live has got Alex Shelbrook, a Tory, who is currently really supportive and helpful in my rip off Britain when your old and fucked campaign.

So sometimes we must forget the actual party. Except that all front facing career politicians are cunts. And a cunts a cunt although some cunts are more cunts than others.

Corbyn is many things but how people are equating his style / policies / leadership as in someway just as bad as Johnson and the ERG must be fucking nuts. His worst excesses will be curtailed by the commons or coalition anyway. Don’t we need a bit of scooping up (Withnail reference) at the moment?

I don’t think they’re equating Corbyn with Johnson’s megalomania/populism (I’m certainly not) but the tragedy is that when the Tories are infighting and tearing themselves apart the Labour party is doing exactly the same, trying to get rid of a democratically elected deputy PM and magical voting for 3 different Brexit approaches when they should be talking about their own policies that will affect ordinary folk and how the UK would be better under them. It’s either incompetence or something darker in Corbyn’s leadership cabal (the 4 Ms).

Mike_Jones ‘trying to get rid of a democratically elected deputy PM’? Like Watson, a stack of the PLP and organisations like Progress and Labour First have been doing since literally the second Corbyn was ‘democratically elected’ as leader.
I can live with the tabloid assaults upon Corbyn. Those of us who voted for him knew they were coming. I’m also honest enough to admit that I, along with others, underestimated how unpopular he would be with certain sections of the electorate. But spare me the tears for Watson. And when we’re looking at what’s hampered Labour I know the blame lies.
Watson’s behaviour has been unforgivable, as has that of so many at Westminster who must know that their stoking of the fires under Corbyn do nothing to get the party elected. Watson times his public undermining of his leader with precision. And offers very little of his own in return. I wouldn’t mind so much if he was advocating some clear and principled alternative, but he’s not. The fact is, as a vision for the future, the 2017 manifesto was superb. And not especially radical. The Labour Party have talked about that constantly for years. Corbyn has spoken for months about how what matters is getting ignored as we obsess over Brexit. He’s got a point.

That’s exactly my point. No tears here for Watson, my point was that using your party conference to get rid of a nuisance when the other lot have their pants down is fucking stupid when you’ve got policies to tout, a real shooting of their own feet. According to Rawnsley the whole deputy PM thing was really about who would lead a govt of national unity if one is soon required, since Corbyn is so polarizing it won’t be him, the word “deputy” in Watson’s title means he would be the next in line - all internal power games, and the Corbyn cabal plays that as aggressively as anyone. Have you read the Rawnsley and Hyde pieces? Very enlightening. Corbyn’s in thrall to Milne n McCluskey, members views are being ignored, even Lansmann said so.

I would cheer for Corbyn getting elected, some of Labour’s policies are great and the alternative is horrific, but a minus 60 approval rating is a mountain to climb and he hasn’t done himself any favours with past n present tactics.

However at the conference there were some decent policies in there such as getting rid of zero hours contracts to allow proper working lives, the negating of Private Schools adopting charitable status for monetary advantage, plus creating a publicly-owned company to make cheap versions of medicines the NHS needs but cannot afford.

cordshoes there were but there are some mad ones too. Not sure if offering freedom of movement to the whole world works on any level and insisting on 10% of a company’s shares being given to the workers is basically theft.

I’ve been saying we need something like the NHS pharmaceutical company for years, great idea.

This will be blocked by the US, as any trade deal with them (post-Brexit) heavily relies on the UK opening the gates to their awful insurance and healthcare companies. Makes me feel sick what Johnson would do.

Mitaman he was in the US talking about this, or more precisely, making the process of procuring government contracts much easier and its precisely why he he is lying about getting a deal, he doesn’t want one. Its the root of all the turmoil, it’s by design. Some mega rich investors have taken big positions that pay out is we crash out and the NHS is the bait for a deal. None of this helps ordinary people it will massively fuck up loads of lives. It’s a lot easier to push radical policy amid turmoil.
