MolOverBeethoven sorry kev got to disagree here. 1st team development is not just about getting minutes on the pitch, its about being involved in the 1st team squad on match days. Also how do you know if hes ready or not ? being surrounded by underaged kids playing against the giants that are port vale is not going to bring the best out of an obvious talent. even Harry kane would struggle to get chances if he was in a team of kids. How is he going to "develop organically? he is obviously miles ahead of the others in the U21 squad, the next "organic" step is to integrate him into the first team squad and give him the odd 10 minutes when the outcome of the game is not in question, not to throw him on to try and win a game and put pressure on him. (having said that imagine the roar at ER if he were to come on and score the winner against Bournemouth! let Harry free i say and bugger the consequences!
Ps hope you are well mate we should be having this convo over a pint of shandy in oporto !
