Mitaman Both him and Gruev say it's part of the plan and they've been playing different set ups in training. I guess the question still remains, why did he not change it sooner? Maybe with all the new players in he picked his core and ran with it perhaps too long, maybe he didn't think the new CBs were ready, maybe he analyzed the top teams and saw they were all struggling with the long ball up the middle as the league got its identity for this year, or we can believe he listened to Daz in the Kop?

Foxy_Dread I guess we'll never know, but in the presser he said it again, he's not stuck on base formations, base formations mean little, don't win matches, but this week he added, good to surprise teams and change it up as underdogs. Then Gruev in his interview, claims he wasn't shocked with the changes, and they train to be adaptable in formation, tactics and roles. He was playing as an attacking midfielder at times. Could all be PR bollocks of course.

The main thing I'd take from this past week is the team spirit. I would also think that if things aren't going well Farke will now at least look to change things.

The starting formation? Who knows which he will go.

Most of this team had never played prem level before. Of course it going to take time to bed them in. Now some of them are looking prem level players. That was not the case a couple of months ago. The flexibility with formation is part of the growing process. Plus payers we thought may be good at this level are now coming good - Amps has been awesome over the last 3 or 4 games. Prior to that he was well flaky. Vamos Farke - keep em going.

It's highly likely Farke will mix things up going forwards if we are struggling but I need more evidence before thinking Farke's application of 433 will achieve safety.

Defensively, I have concerns about our centre backs if we play a back four.

I don't think the last 30 minutes against Liverpool show that we have cracked the 433.

We will know either way soon enough.

Objectively, he looks really fit and has a point to prove, even if he says he doesn't. He's also been really complimentary about us; the fans, the club, he gets it and has been on the KoolAid.

If we can all start believing DCL can make the England squad and take Watkins' place, even if it's a long shot, and one that needs a big leap of faith, then it might just happen!

We then get one-up on all the other team's commentarati bedwetters who think he's a crock of shit and we get to strut around giving it the Barry!
