Raposa Rightly or wrongly, I think if you are pushing for a £120m promotion or trying to avoid a £120m relegation, the cup should not be a priority. If you are a Palace, Brentford, Fulham, Everton et al and established in the PL, then bust your socks to win every cup game.
We need to keep eyes on the longer term goal of competing at the higher end of the PL. We can only do that with a bigger stadium, higher revenues, better players etc. So, in the short term, I am prepared to forfeit a cup run.
It is 2026, not 1976, the game has changed beyond recognition, sadly.
