Chopper_Read what needs taking into account is the FFP position. Perhaps it had to be on the cheap. Given our history with the FL, Radz was probably right to play it by the book on FFP. Was a loan fee that could have been used to insert get out clauses possible under FFP? On what basis had we been trying to get Adams from Southampton? Orta is a dick but what constraints was he working under?
Sign a PL standard forward who will drop to the championship and cost us nothing upfront because of FFP. That would be a tough ask when everyone knows you are desperate and time is against you.
If I wanted to bash Orta on this I'd be questioning whether he missed the reason why his career had stalled at RBL and if this would have led to no deal.
The signing with hindsight was a fuck up but the biggest fuck up was what followed and surely Radz ultimately is responsible for that.
