I see quite a bit of Championship football at work and it is my firm belief if teams lined up against Leeds how they do against other sides we would have a field day. Brentford and West Brom often feature in open games. Teams just won’t do it against Leeds and all know how to play us to minimise the threat. Now Bielsas game with this quality of footballer flounders, only real class is going to rip apart a well.set defence that we seem to face week in week out. We are the victims of our own hype.

But this was inevitable. Second season, other managers adapt and change ours won’t or maybe can’t.
I watched Brentford beat Hull the other week and thought we’d destroy that Brentford team. But they’re not going to play that way against us.
We’re not victims of our own success, we haven’t had any yet.

if we win or lose tomorrow, you might get a day out at Wembley but I don’t think this team is going up.

I have no problem with teams doing what they need to do to beat us, it does frustrate me that they don’t apply themselves in a similar way against the other good sides.

The general consensus seems to be that Leeds are the best footballing side in the division.
Might be true but our style of play doesn’t necessarily lend itself to getting promoted.
It’s a hard slog over 46 games in this league and there are games where you need to put the hard yards in,win ugly so to speak.
I don’t see that when we play.
The pundits at the Arsenal game were saying that Leeds’ style is better suited to the PL.
Tend to agree.
We’ve also too many luxury players in my humble.
Pablo,Klich and Harrison wouldn’t look out of place in the PL but at times have been found wanting this season.
As FD says,teams do seem to raise a level when playing Leeds and we need to react to that.
Starting tonight would be useful.

Raposa I’ve been saying this since last year. We are a really good and stylish football team and great to watch and would fit in to the top flight, maybe even a Europe place (not Champions League). But getting there is another thing and maybe Bielsa hasnt got the answer on how to get us out of this league

Misura couldnt agree more and I said that you fully deserved the promotion even if (on paper) we played the better football. But that means nothing. You guys knew how to defend AND to play route one AND score when you needed. You could pick up a fight and scrap it out.

And credit to you this season as well. Wish you well for a top 6 and Europe. I hope you end up more like a Wolves and consolidate your position rather than a Huddersfield 2nd season though.

I also think the likes of Pep and Klopp would struggle to get a team out of the Championship.

Could be Sgt Wilko’s team there. And with Strachan, sheer class as well. But Wilko’s signing of Vinnie Jones was inspirational - though didn’t think so at the time. Wilko knew what he had to do to get us out and it may not always be pretty - WBA do that.
We’ve been short of leaders for some time now.

It didn’t stop Wagner, Klopps mate getting Huddersfield there and keeping them up.
Klopp has gone into Liverpool and changed a good side into the world s most consistent club side. Identified their weaknesses and rectified them over a couple of seasons.
Isn’t there some made stat that Liverpool have played in as many CL finals in the last two years than league games they have lost.

Said it the other week. Our objective might be promotion but that’s not Bielsa’s. It’s promotion his way. As things stand, I don’t think Leeds are going up. I’d like to be wrong mind.

Smart managers/coaches adapt their play as games demand. We’re an experiment. It’s been cool and a hell of a lot more fun than what went before for a long time. I wouldn’t swap it but I’m not paying for a season ticket so maybe my opinion counts for less.
Can’t really ask for much more from most of these p!ayers, they’ve excelled, exceeded expectation, in the main. Only the two lads from Wolves are a bust for me. Beilsa has got every last drop out of everyone else. I just don’t think it’s enough.
Oh for the days of Lukic to Butterworth and in the back of the Barnsley net…

Flaneur It’s like you say though it s all guesses or hunches isn’t it. All a persons opinion.

But it would be nice to see how some of these top flight managers did in the Championship. I think Ferguson might have been able to do something, not sure about some of the others though.

Wasnt it keegan that got Man City up? But then needed an Italian to win them their first title.
