Harvest Foxy_Dread I also lent mine to a lady from Hull, she lived in the same street. We walked our kids to school together occasionally and walked back chatting. One morning I asked her what she was going to do with the rest of the day, 'Probably open a bottle of wine, fire up the laptop and have a wank as normal.' Fair enough.
Under-the-ground Just finished a book on Peter cook, by those who knew him. Charity shop special it was ok, but a bit one sided . It was edited by his wife. Only one person said he deffo lost his talent to booze
albert_herbert_hawkins Recently finished "God is Not Great" by Christopher Hitchens. If you are only reading one more book this year make it this one. Don't be fooled by the title, though rightly Islam cops it so do the other monotheistic religions as well as the Hindus and the Buddhists. If you're a practising catholic you might want to skip it.
Under-the-ground Just finished this. Charity shop special. 50p . It was brilliant. Like day of the jackal in the way it was put together. Great characters albeit they were real. Very well written. Really good
MolOverBeethoven One for you? @Jon https://www.theguardian.com/books/2025/mar/10/the-north-pole-the-history-of-an-obsession-by-erling-kagge-review
BobbyDavros The Last House On Needless Street. For Book Club. Love the imagination, and it's set in Oregon. Just hoping the ending is strong. But a cat reading a Bible is good.
Under-the-ground Just finished this. I really enjoyed it. Basically a Brit living in New York & getting obsessed about art (Warhol mainly) and how it affected her loneliness. Comes recommended.
Kevin_Stapleton Under-the-ground In the end I found her a bit annoying but the stories on those artists were great.
