Just finished Alan Moore Jerusalem.

it’s mammoth. 1100 odd pages about Northampton. It is immense. I don’t know where to start. You could make religion about it.

I had 3 epiphanies reading this. This has changed & remapped by brain. Hard to describe what it is actually about. Life is the best I can do and how we are made from the past & what is around us.

this is a hell of an undertaking to read it but it just kept giving. Best book I have read. Brilliant. I need to lie down now.

Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom by Patrick Moore the co-founder of Greenpeace, not the googly-eyed astronomer. The biggest takeaway being that rather than there being too much carbon in the atmosphere he believes that there is too little. Not a fan of Greta and flat out calls David Attenborough a liar, complete with examples.

Jon CO2 is plant food. Commercial greenhouses pump it in to promote growth, typically to 1000 to 1200 PPM. It is currently about 420 PPM in the atmosphere. He argues that plants are currently CO2 starved. This would fit with stuff I’ve read elsewhere on the regreening of deserts which has been happening due to increased in CO2. Another side effect of higher levels of CO2 is that plants require less water, hence the growth in arid areas.

One blokes memoir from Leeds who fought in Gallipoli. It was published by his granddaughter who lives near me.
A good book. One hell of a man who I fear are in short supply nowadays.
Some lovely stories in it like his party peice swimming across the Suez Canal!!
