Travis_Bickle Elena Ferrante's novels touch on it. It's weaved into the main story and is depicted well in the TV version of My Brilliant Friend, which for me is one of the best TV series ever made. A mixture of neapolitan poverty, mafia wannbees, left and right wing radicals, capitalist greed and aching romance its acemans. And the performances, especially of the two girls are mesmerising.
