Finally finished 'Easy Riders, Raging Bulls' today. It's a fantastic read, almost like a novel. There are so many characters that I started losing track and it was only halfway through I realised that there's a who's who at the back which helps.
Some of the tales of Coppola, Scorsese and Hopper are unbelievable. In fact all of the directors were massively fucked up in their own way. Scorsese sounds a real screw up.
It charts the rise and fall of the New Hollywood, late 60s to early 80s, through the coke filled 70s. It's a real insight, so glad I read it. It made me realise how many of the film's mentioned I'd either not seen for years or not seen at all. I've never seen 'Chinatown'. No idea why.
Some great films listed at the back.
