Cooley Not done it in years but used to do it using DOS commands. Deleted files are (were?) findable in a CMD window using DOS commands and were listed with the first character of the filename missing. If you knew (or could guess ) what the first char was you could use the DOS undelete command (which might actually be “undelete”).
Sorry, but that part of my human hard drive was pre-brain-surgery so I can’t remember the specifics, but google around for DOS file undelete or similar and find how we used to do it in the 80s and 90s.
