My guess is we won’t get an election. The demi-centaur is angling for marshal law (and he’s getting pretty close), Biden could snuff it at any minute, China could lose all sense of balance and invade Taiwan etcetera, etcetera. Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen gave the orange one a good kicking yesterday and made a very pertinent comment, i.e. that the armed forces could be politicized. Imagine a tooled up liberal army and a tooled up right wing army. Puts a different slant on getting the vote out.

I predicted the suspension of democracy a couple of years ago didn’t say for 2020 though. We are in an end game situation, it’s all tied in with climate change and the need to control the future when the control of elections will be be out of their hands.

China just needs to call in it’s US based debt if they want to start something.They own about 15% of what the US owes in terms of government bonds and other bits of debt. If they called it in, it would slow the US economy right down and if they could work out a way to call it all in at once, they’d crash the dollar as a currency. They’d risk crashing their own currency if they couldn’t export elsewhere, but nothing would surprise me right now.

king_of_the_slums No win scenario, if they try dumping pre-maturity debt, they will get mullered. The US has to issue new debt every month to stay afloat, they just need to stop buying, they have already been testing this in the last 2 years.

In addition, China stops rolling over existing US debt.

Ultimately US economic destruction is China’s destruction they are that closely locked together.

How would the Chinese call in their debt? Aren’t the securities they purchased all of differing maturities? Isn’t the Yuan pegged to the dollar? I don’t know much about all this stuff.

As for the election, I still believe there are more good people in this world than bad. Call me naive if you will, just spell it right.

Uk is about 1.7 Trillion. I’m not sure that contains the Coronavirus cash.

I think we largely owe it to ourselves on some level but I’m not a banker.

I think the biggest holder of US debt is America either through the government, social security and things like that or individuals through mutual funds, and pension schemes.
