Ive just revisited this after a 40 odd year hiatus.
I thought it was poor when it came out , i loved "Crossing the red sea" album -still have it on Red vinyl -Rare ,with No Value.

Anyway ,enjoyed it this time round alot more ,lyrically its wonderful .
Not great ,Not crap ,ok for an occasional spin .

I’ve seen him a few times ,as a solo artist .
Even put him up one night after a gig and went for drinks with him and Gaye and Mark Perrys ex missus .
Must have been at least 20 years ago that .
He’s not with Gaye anymore .
Anyway ,kind of drifted away from his more recent solo stuff but I’d go see him live again with a band .
Enjoyed the Adverts ,Explorers and Cheap bands at the time .
I’ve missed a lot of gigs as I was out of the country from 2010 to 2022 most of the time .
I may well dust down my mosh shoes .
Not seen anyone since Theatre of hate a couple of years ago .
“A thing of beauty”..Now that’s a great album !

I like it. Saw them in 2008 in Digbeth - again I thought it was great.

I thought the last one was their masterpiece. This is fucking ace. Wild bird and the next song north wind.

Some of the best stuff they done. The western guitar to die for.

Also the string arrangements throughout. Very good . I will be living in this album.
