Forgot to mention the iconic HORSE'S HEAD scene.

Maybe just maybe, 2 is better made than 1, but the scenes I remember most and worship are mainly from 1.

And in the Second one where the oily Senator turns the cannon on the desk around to face Michael.
And then goes 'I don't like you Corleone' and over pronounces the word 'Corleone' like 'Corrly- ony'.

Mate of mine just back from his honeymoon over in Sicily. Photos brought back many memories - fantastic people, incredible food, drink, outlook on life, sense of family (not gangster style, i mean a love for one's relatives), loyalty and honour. A really special place. Go there.

Got to be 2 for me but thats my own opinion. Got to be good for a sequel to be held in at the very least equal to the 1st film. Most are let downs.

They once ran them in chronological order of the story in the BBC - so they started with the first bit of 2 and so on. It was brilliant, I had it on VHS (couple of years ago). I like different aspects of both - so I can't split them. De niro is brilliant, but so is the rest of the cast.

I saw that on TV and bought it on VHS. Very good in a different way to the detached timeline of the films.

I had to plump for one of the films it would be the first as the dynasty must be established with the Audience having no prior experience, Pacino is outstanding in this movie as well, but Brando, well what can you say other than wow. The era as well lends it self beautifully to the brown light Starraro favours.

On three it is much maligned for not being as good as 1 and 2. The first two generally make it into most film critics top ten, all the more impressive given their penchant for picking "Les Enfant De Paridis" or the 1927 version of Napolean. So, Godfather 3 won't make the top ten films ever made. It's still good and allegory for Roberto Calvi and P2, something which escapes many.

Anyway, voted for 1.

A beer and a wine cost about a quid (Tenner plus eksewhere). Inside they had a couple of signed photos on the wall otherwise it can;t have changed since medieval times. Nobody else apart from us. Anywhere else in Europe there would have been a shop selling T-shirts. baseballcaps etc and full to busting. Probably my most enjoyable beer of all time.

Anywhere else in Europe there's less of a risk of a 9mm up your nose for spoiling the view or not boxing of the local capo.

I remember that, i think they included a lot of deleted scenes as well: - At the end of the wedding Vito taking all his sons to visit Genco in hospital; Vito killing all his fathers murderers on his first visit back top Sicily, not just the old man in the villa etc.

I can't split them myself, i prefer to see them as one great story rather than two films.

For me (smirk), 3 is me the best of the three. Maybe that's just the rebel in me, co everybody else thinks it's shite (comparatively).

Decided to watch all three this weekend. Yep part three is shit. Despite Garcia, Mantegna, Wallace, etc who are all great in it. I don't think the great Catholic confession / redemption theme running through it works in a mob film. It becomes something else and I'm not sure Coppola knew what that was really. Plus incest is nasty, not passionate or romantic.

Funny, watched Donnie Brasco again last night. Not the best mafia film ever made, but I thought Al Pacino was very good, as always.
