'And now you're gonna believe us....we're gonna win the league'
The tongue was firmly in the cheek when the South Stand broke into that famous chant after the first goal was celebrated. If a lot of those posting on the forums were to be believed, there weren't going to be any goals to celebrate.
We were treated to two.
Some real positives from the game. The high pressing wingbacks, Golden and new boy Galvin, were excellent. Millington continued to value possession and controlling space when you don't have it. They harassed and disrupted Bromley, never letting them find a rhythm. Senior's distribution wasn't great but with Stott and Keane he was part of a great defensive three. Keane's been accused of pointing more than playing in the past. Point away on this performance. He sits deep and read everything right yesterday. Perfect role for him.
Harker up front divides opinion. He looked laboured again. And missed a sitter again. Cosgrave came on in the second half and just seemed to want it more. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts in the weeks and months to come.
Max Wright came on for Cooke and showed just how good a player he is. Really hope he can stay fit. He's a football league player in terms of ability.
Long way to go, but if they play like that every week, there'll be more to sing about.
Special mention for Jack Evans. Looked superb in the pre-season games as a trialist. Deserved his contract. This is what scoring on your full debut looks like.

Just under 1700 there. 90 from Bromley. Be nice to think that holiday season took a few off the gate.
Eldest decided on the way home that she wants to go to Boreham Wood away next Saturday. Reckon we'll be ticking off another new ground. Love our football days. Acemans.
