Chesterfield away today. The eldest is playing at the National Youth Brass Band Championships but the glory hunter, sorry my son, said he fancied it.
They lost. 2-0.
It wasn't so much anger at full time, more resignation. Resignation to another season in the National League playing average football to dwindling crowds. For all the doom-mongering Town fans excel at, they shouldn't go down. As amazing as it is to contemplate after what we endured today, there are worse teams in this division.
I think next week's FA Trophy semi saved Millington a tirade of abuse. That won't be the case if they lose. Should be a decent trip. Got our tickets. There were 325 Town fans there today. Altrincham have offered just under a thousand for the semi.
Town had their moments but they can't score goals. They leak quite a few too. Everything about Chesterfield suggests league football. The crowd, ground, whole set up and, most importantly, their team.
We had a laugh.

That's all that matters in the end. But the actual product is becoming Fullarton-esque. God help us....
