I went to the Farsley Celtic vs Blyth Spartans game this afternoon. It was postponed after a second pitch inspection at 3.15 due to one goalmouth being deemed unplayable, Apparently this had been caused by a 20 minute shower of rain which had started at 1.30.
Understandably, there were a lot of very frustrated Blyth supporters.
While the pitch resembles a potato field at the best of times, it looked playable to me. There was no official announcement over the PA system as it doesn't work. Thankfully the floodlights weren't needed today, as on my last visit, a significant proportion of the bulbs didn't work either.
I enjoy my visits to the "Citadel". (I wonder how the marketing gurus who sold that name to the club managed to choke down their laughter long enough to pocket their pay cheques.) And they have Staropramen on tap.
