fuzzy Day 6 today. Had a skinfull on Tues (after a fair old amount on Christmas day and boxing day) and felt shite. Really low too so I decided that Wednesday was day one. Been enjoying feeling more present with the kids since then. Walks and bike rides with them and a park run on New Year's day morning. Gonna ride the calm and steady sober horse for a while and see how long I can go, where it takes me and see how I feel, whilst trying to focus on the positives. Sleeping better already.
Loose_Lips Girlfriends birthday was yesterday. 42. What a cluster fuck. Out at Hawksmoor at 4pm. Rolls in 11. Bed at 3.30am. She's just got out of bed. Girls only do. They are all verging on alcohol poisoning. What the fuck did they get up to?
Raposa Just been told we’re going to a wedding this weekend. Dry January failing at the first hurdle.
l.q.navarro. Not back at work till tomorrow. Spoons this afternoon. 99p a pint for the next 2 weeks. Can't be missing out on that 🥴
Harvest I imagine we'll be getting asked this question by a kindly nurse at the home if we make it to our mid 90s. - followed by a, 'You are? good boy. Would you like some rice pudding?'
EEPW first dry day in god knows how long yesterday. weirdly woke up with a hangover. i think my blood might still be 90% alcohol and my brain expects me to wake up feeling like shite so its in a state of shock. 2nd day should be interesting, gonna be a tough one tonight especially with it being a match day, and a trolly full of xmas leftover drinks staring at me forlornly begging to be drunk. If west ham score first i think I'll break.
Loose_Lips EEPW and a trolly full of xmas leftover drinks staring at me forlornly begging to be drunk I had a fair bit of high quality ponce left over. I quite like having it there. Feels more of a test.
Travis_Bickle EEPW might be something in that. Dry since the weekend and haven't had a decent night's kip yet. Have felt kid of wired until the early hours. Hoping it settles down a bit tbh or I'm back on the Merlot....
Anchor Travis_Bickle I read it takes a while for the body clock to adjust after a period of boozing. My sleep has been awful for weeks - on and off the booze. Finally a bit better last night.
Mitaman Travis_Bickle it takes about a week, in my experience. Your body is readjusting to not having poison in it. As said above. I lasted 4 days BTW this time. Had teo glasses of sake last night.
