It’s classic military tactics innit. Defending an elevated position against superior numbers, forcing them to funnel into a confined space, invalidating the superior numbers and the ability to use weapons/fight effectively. Similar to what the Spartans did against the Persians at Thermopylae.
Also possessing previous fighting experience and having the ability to punch helps him in this situation, rather than skinny jeans, black hoodie and face covering.
