Jon Nothing to do with chords or guitar solos. Happy House, Playground Twist, Staircase Mystery, et al ad infinitum just all sound like the same song. It's a 'banshees sound', but it's a sound that doesn't do it for me, at all. The Scream is very simple, but tuneful, and songs like 'Overground' still stand up to scrutiny today. Don't recall the Banshees indulging in over long guitar breaks, but it might have made their later stuff more listenable...
