YoungParisian_inExile I’d think the reasons would be we’ve got fuck you money and it sounds cool as fuck to do. Like those rich folk who get roped up to a Sherpa and dragged up Everest or sign up to pay a ton of money to fly to the edge of space.

They only have enough air to survive till 10 am tomorrow morning and the only way to rescue them is to try and get it back up, no escape hatch. Can't imagine what they are going through. Its controlled by an old logitech games controller as well, like an xbox controller

Bod can't believe that at the very least they didn't have a second sub as a back up rescue vehicle bearing in mind the depth and the amount of hazards and snaggable twisted metal around a ship wreck?

I know a diver who was asked if he wanted to be part of the team that went to retrieve The Kursk, he declined.
It was an onboard explosion from what I remember. A Dutch company eventually brought it to the surface.

It’s mad to think that they’re down there with the CEO of the company.
Deepest successful rescue to date is 1500 ft, I read. They’re most likely beyond rescue at this point.

Made me think of the opening of David Whitehouse’s The Long Forgotten. Honestly can’t remember if it’s a good book or not mind.
