The thing about Rutter is his running style looks as if he's at the point of falling over all the time. Proper ungainly. Then he does what he does and the rest speaks for itself. Like many on here, I thought he was complete shite last season. Farke and confidence is obviously a winning combination.

I'd switch him and Piroe, but I think they've been told to do this anyway and listing the team sheet with Rutter up top is a ruse, I think they interchange well. Sometimes it will not work, but we're getting there. Hopefully Lyon don't come in with an improved bid at the end of the year and he'd slot right in at Bayern with Kane. We need to take this lad up with us (and give him room to breath, his price tag has zero to do with him!)..

Mitaman Like Mol said, IMO he offered no creativity, or anything else. Can only assume he has been bought to add depth to the squad, because he's definitely not a starter for me unless Farke is giving Gray a rest.

king_of_the_slums roberts was never this good, not even at this level. Lyon is shockingly bad, going to Lyon now would be the wrong move for him career wise. Seeing how well he 's playing now in Farke's system, as a false nine, trequartista, deep lying type of forward. It'll be very interesting when Bamford is fit. Personally I think Bamford is a better player.

Pat Bamford is still the dog's bollocks. This lad Rutter tho; he has class that boy and time to grow into something very special indeed. Piroe, Rutter, Gray, Ampadu, Struijk, Shackleton etc etc. Leeds are starting to look the real deal. Amazing what a manager who knows what he wants and gets that across can do. The big grins on the faces of the players at the end of game! Positive vibrations.

MDF Bamford is shot. Ha had his 15 minutes, which were excellent. Constantly injured, he takes ages to get back in the groove after time out. Like Rutter he's not a natural finisher. But I never remember him, even in his pomp beating players like Rutter does or playing balls like that one for the third on Saturday. I think Rutter could be something very special.

Djpekingman i agree its Rutter's place to lose now. Younger, bigger, better finisher, and that roulette. What I see is in the role of a facilitator to Piroe and the smart runnings, and defensively in Farke's pressing styles, a fit Bamford ticks all the boxes. Bamford plays best when the players around him are on the same wavelength. And when they lineup close to him. When he initiates a press, his teammates has to know and support him. Under marschball, we had so little of the ball and players were so far apart. I read an article before the start of the season, it reckons Bamford could be the surprise player in the Championship this year. From what I see, he was vocal against Marsch and some players regarding the poor performances and total destruction of last season. Put simply, i think he cares, and i hope he does well.

But what do i know, my highest level of competitive football was 5 minutes of substitute appearance as a U15 school boy, and champions league winner on football manager 2023. 😅

MDF I really don't get why you rate Bamford so highly, he had a couple of good seasons, when we went up and the first season in the prem, other than that pretty average. Too slow, one footed, misses too many chances, very injury prone, he'll be injured again this season. I'd be very surprised if he ever gets a start over a fit Piroe, he's going to be a bench warmer this season.
