Travis_Bickle I get the proposition. I'm not sure it's an entirely accurate one. If the data is correct, then it suggests a figure for those whose identity is known. That doesn't exclude the possibility of there being combatants killed whose identity isn't known or verified.
At the start of this conflict Israel itself was publishing a count of Hamas fighters killed. They only stopped when the numbers of civilians got embarrassingly high. These numbers do not out of whack with how things were going down earlier in the conflict. Why do you think they're different? On what do you base this opinion?
One of the difficulties is that those in Hamas and other groups fighting the IDF only wear 'uniforms' when they're parading civilians they took hostage and/or people they killed.
Hmmm. Sounds a bit "Kill 'em all and let God sort them out." The same excuses were rolled out for things like Mai Lai. I guess the IDF snipers have to target the children in case Hamas are employing "Little People" agents.
And Hamas's casualty figure data isn't the most robust (although on any view the figure is too high).
The Palestinian figures are not only supposedly based on verified/counted bodies only, but according to aid organisations and the UN are thought to be greatly understated.
